How Could A Mass Class Mobile Project Work?

Ideas that I’d like to incorporate:
*sending files via bluetooth
*sending audio and video instructions
*get the kids to bluetooth or SMS quiz questions to each other
*uploading their work to our ning site by sending stuff to the special movile email address that ning creates for each user
*using QR codes around the school to move kids on to the next clue for the unit or something like that.
But as for a mass class project that they could all contribute to…
Well our class ning could be the central place for their work and the project could be broken in to sections and each student or group has to contribute their own section to a common product but only using their phones.
I also want them to do mobile diaries, so maybe using 12seconds.tv or something like that to show what they are learning bit by bit and what they think of the doing most of it by phone.
Anyway, that’s just a few thoughts going on in my head. See how it takes shape. Comments and further ideas more than welcome!

Hi Jess what a fantastic idea – i tried QR codes with my year 10 commerce class problem was they didn’t all have 3g phones and so that was problematic as groups had to be much larger than i wanted. The activity was successful but not as effective. Could they use voicethread with their photos and video? or perhaps interview others about their ideas on the specific topic they are investigating and then add their own commentary or create a radio broadcast? or collect series of sms and weave them together in an animoto movie with images they have create? Wish you were my History teacher.
Hey Clare,
What brilliant ideas, thank you! I love the idea of weaving together SMS responses into a movie, or recording interviews into a broadcast. Superb! Clearly you are just the genius I needed this evening
