About Me

My name is Jess McCulloch and I teach LOTE Chinese in south west Victoria, Australia. I graduated with a Grad Dip in Education (Secondary) in 2005 and have been working as a Chinese teacher at Hawkesdale P12 College since then. I teach all year levels from Prep to Year 12.

My major interest at the moment is integrating ICT into the languages classroom to increase student and teacher engagement. I would love to turn my classroom into an eLearning unit of some description and enable the students to manage their own learning of Chinese digitally. I’m particularly interested in the application of Web 2.0 tools such as blogging and podcasting. I am also becoming more interested in the application of virtual reality for language learning.

I write at a number of blogs which you can find listed on My Sites and Projects page.

My aim for this blog is to reflect on my teaching in general, my web discoveries and how it all fits together - if and when it does! If you find something useful here then that is fantastic. If you have any comments and suggestions for me then that would be greatly appreciated.
