About Me

My name is Jess McCulloch and this year I am teaching History and International Politics at Coburg Senior High School, where there are no ‘classrooms,’ most of the kids have laptops and there is a major focus on technology. 2009 will be my first year teaching History and Politics as I’ve spent the last three years teaching Chinese at Hawkesdale P12 College in South West Victoria. I taught all year levels (prep to 12) which is quite a change from my current job where I only teach Years 10-12.

My major interests at the moment as far as education and technology go are social networking, mobile technologies, gaming, and virtual worlds. These are the topics I will focus this blog on mostly. My aim for this blog is to reflect on my teaching in general, my web discoveries and how it all fits together – if and when it does! This blog will also act as my Digital Portfolio that I am required to keep as a staff member at CSHS. If you find something useful here then that is fantastic. If you have any comments and suggestions for me then that would be greatly appreciated.

The header image on this blog is not necessarily related to any topics on the blog and will change often. I just tend to pick one of my favourite photos that I’ve taken recently and give it a run as the header for a while!

I also run the technoLanguages blog and ning network.
